Abuja, August 26, 2025 - The Association of Tiv Actors, Abuja chapter, has presented an Award of Honor to Abubakar Marwa Mohammed, Managing Director/CEO of Arewa Beats Entertainment. The award recognizes Mohammed's dedication to excellent African storytelling and outstanding contributions to the development of the Northern Nigeria film industry.
Presenting the award, Chairman of the Association, Chakpa Terry, commended Mohammed's efforts in promoting Northern Nigeria's culture and talents. He noted that despite facing challenges like film distribution, sponsorship, and funding, Mohammed's productions, such as "Tagwaye," have gained global recognition.
Terry called for better film collaboration and partnership, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to elevate the industry. "We are here today to honor and celebrate a man who has contributed much to the development of Northern Nigeria films," he said.
Akpensuen Festus Aondonenge, Managing Director of ITIFAN, a key partner in distributing "Tagwaye," praised the association for the honor. He stressed the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and partnership in the film industry, highlighting ITIFAN's mission to deliver exceptional services and change the narrative in Africa's film network.
In his acceptance speech, Mohammed expressed gratitude to the association and pledged to support their endeavors. He also appreciated ITIFAN's efforts and encouraged them to continue their good work.
The event concluded with refreshments and photo opportunities, marking a significant milestone in the growth and recognition of Northern Nigeria's film industry.
